Welcome to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DECEMBER 15, 2006
Heading into the weekend, jail doors at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio were closed this morning to the City of Toledo.
It marks the 13th time this year that jail doors have been closed due to peak population numbers.
This morning’s count stood at 612 or 95 percent. The City of Toledo was 13.3 offenders over its bed allocation.
The jurisdiction count this morning stood at 53.5 or 86 percent for Defiance County; 40 or 80 percent for Fulton County; 26.3 or 68 percent for Henry County; 192.8 or 97 percent for Lucas County; 257.3 or 105 percent for the City of Toledo; and 42 or 84 percent for Williams County.
CCNO will not accept offenders from the City of Toledo until they drop to or below their bed allocation or the facility population drops to 90 percent or 578.
When CCNO reaches 95 percent or 610 for one day, it results in closing the doors to those jurisdictions exceeding their allocations. In addition, those jurisdictions with inmate populations above 90 percent are asked to consider granting early releases for eligible inmates.
