Welcome to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NOV. 20, 2006
Jail doors at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio were open to all jurisdictions early Monday afternoon after being closed to three jurisdictions for the sixth weekend in a row due to peak population numbers.
Jail doors had been closed Saturday to Toledo and Lucas County and on Monday to Defiance County. It was the 11th overcrowding emergency to be declared this year with the population peaking to 619 or 96 percent over the weekend.
As of 2:15 p.m. Monday, jail doors were wide open to all jurisdictions as the population count was reduced to 585 or 91 percent. Defiance County stood at 56.5 or 91 percent; Fulton County at 34.5 or 69 percent; Henry County at 32.5 or 65 percent; Lucas County at 182 or 92 percent; Toledo at 238 or 98 percent; and Williams County at 41.5 or 83 percent.
When CCNO reaches 95 percent or 610 for one day, it results in closing the doors to those jurisdictions exceeding their allocations. In addition, those jurisdictions with inmate populations above 90 percent are asked to consider granting early releases for eligible inmates. This site was updated on June 13, 2008
