Welcome to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NOV. 20, 2006
Jail doors at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio were again closed for the sixth weekend in a row due to peak population numbers.
Jail doors were closed Saturday to Toledo and Lucas County. It was the 11th overcrowding emergency to be declared this year with the population count on Saturday at 619 or 96 percent. Lucas County’s population stood at 204 or 103 percent while Toledo was at 248 or 101 percent.
Today’s population count stood at 606 or 94 percent. Jail doors were closed this morning to Defiance County at 64.5 or 104 percent. Jail doors were reopened to Toledo at 243.5 or 99 percent and also to Lucas County at 188.5 or 96 percent. Other jurisdictions stood at 34.5 or 69 percent for Fulton County; 31.5 or 81 percent for Henry County; and 43.5 or 87 percent for Williams County.
When CCNO reaches 95 percent or 610 for one day, it results in closing the doors to those jurisdictions exceeding their allocations. In addition, those jurisdictions with inmate populations above 90 percent are asked to consider granting early releases for eligible inmates. This site was updated on June 13, 2008
