Welcome to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
OCTOBER 10, 2007
Once again pleas went out to all jurisdictions as population numbers were nearing record highs at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio.
CCNO’s population stood at 610 or 95 percent as of Wednesday morning. Doors were closed to Defiance County with a population of 62 or 100 percent.
Two jurisdictions – the City of Toledo at 243 or 99 percent and Lucas County at 193.5 or 98 percent – will be limited to the number of offenders they can send to CCNO. Also Henry County at 34.5 or 91 percent was advised it could only send a limited number of offenders. The remaining jurisdictions stood at 41 or 82 percent for Williams County and 36 or 72 percent for Fulton County.
When CCNO reaches 95 percent or 610, jail doors will be closed to those jurisdictions exceeding their allocations. CCNO policy allows the executive director to place the facility in an emergency status when the inmate population reaches 95 percent. In addition, those jurisdictions with inmate populations above 90 percent are asked to consider granting early releases for eligible inmates.
