Other jurisdictions stood at 57 or 92 percent for Defiance County; 30 or 79 percent for Henry County; 186.5 or 94 percent for Lucas County; and 46 or 92 percent for Williams County. Early releases are being requested from jurisdictions over 90% of their bed allotment.
It was the 19th overcrowding emergency to be declared at CCNO in 2007.
CCNO policy allows the executive director to place the facility in an emergency status when the inmate population reaches 95 percent. In addition, those jurisdictions with inmate populations above 90 percent are asked to consider granting early releases for eligible inmates.
