Special recognition was given to a long-time director at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio during Wednesday’s board meeting.
Scott Bradbee, Director of Support Services for the past 20 years, received special recognition during the board meeting in recognition of his upcoming retirement. Director Bradbee has been employed at CCNO since its beginning on March 5, 1990. He served as Director of Security from April 24, 1997, to July 19, 1999, at which time he returned to his current position. He plans to retire on Aug. 31 with 20 years of service at CCNO and a total of 30 years in corrections.
Director Bradbee was a former jail administrator for Erie County and supervised the work release program. He also served as a corrections planner in 1988 during the planning stages of CCNO.
As the Director of Support Services, Director Bradbee managed a variety of staff who oversaw various operations within the regional jail to include food and medical services, substance abuse and educational programs, volunteer services, recreation and laundry services, work release and electronic monitoring programs, community public works services, classification, case management, maintenance, American Correctional Association and state jail accreditation. Over the years he has helped CCNO acquire a variety of grant funds to offset the costs of numerous programs and services conducted at CCNO.
In August, Director Bradbee was honored by being named CCNO Employee for the month of July in recognition of his years of service and dedication to CCNO.
Jim Dennis, CCNO Executive Director, said “Scott has been instrumental starting and accomplishing ACA (American Correctional Association) accreditation, Ohio jail certification, and corrections programs. CCNO policies are requested for review from around the country. CCNO has evolved into a leader in corrections and Scott Bradbee has had his hands in much of it. I personally will miss his contributions and experience. We wish him and his family the best as Scott opens a new chapter in his life.”
