Welcome to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
APRIL 30, 2007
Jail doors at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio were opened to all jurisdictions as a result of projected releases. The overcrowding emergency was lifted at 6:00 p.m. Monday.
Jail doors had been closed to the City of Toledo on Saturday, April 28 as they exceeded their allotted beds while the overall population peaked at 611 on Saturday. The facility population dropped to 610 on Monday. Defiance County was lifted from the emergency as their population dropped to 61 Monday morning.
This was the ninth overcrowding emergency to be declared at CCNO this year.
CCNO policy allows the executive director to place the facility in an emergency status
when the inmate population reaches 95 percent. In addition, those jurisdictions with inmate populations above 90 percent are asked to consider granting early releases for eligible inmates.
