Bryan and Williams County authorities continue to search for an inmate after he apparently walked away from his work site early Monday afternoon.
Authorities continue to search for Aaron Garrett, 26, Toledo. He is described as a white male, 6 feet in height, 185 pounds, shaven head with blue eyes. He was last seen wearing an orange and white striped inmate jumpsuit.
Garrett was last seen working at the recycling center near the Bryan Community Center in Bryan around 1:30 p.m. Monday.
Garrett had been incarcerated at Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio in Stryker since Nov. 14 on two charges of driving under the influence, two charges of driving without a license and an attempt to commit an offense charge out of Maumee and Toledo municipal courts. On Jan. 13 he was placed on the Community Corrections Program. He was scheduled for release on April 3.
A felony escape charge has been filed against Garrett. Both the Bryan Police and Williams County Sheriff’s Department, along with the dog units, have been called out to search for Garrett.
It was the first walk away from a community corrections work site since 2006. A total of 6,194 inmates have participated in the CCNO Community Public Works program that began at CCNO in 1994, working more than 1 million hours and providing $5.8 million in savings to the various communities. There have been a total of 15 walk aways with all 15 apprehended.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bryan Police or Williams County Sheriff’s Department.
