Bed allocations for 2016 at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio were delayed following action by board members during Wednesday’s brief meeting.
At the recommendation of the CCNO Financial Overview Committee, which met for about a half hour prior to the board meeting, board members unanimously voted to take no action on the matter which was deferred for 30 days. The board will meet again on Aug. 24 to discuss the matter.
Current bed allocations for 2015 stand at 228 beds for the City of Toledo; 203 beds for Lucas County; 60 beds for Defiance County; 55 beds each for Fulton and Williams counties and 37 beds for Henry County. Recent changes in the CCNO bylaws specified that the board would meet in July to determine bed allocations for the upcoming year.
In other business, CCNO Executive Director Jim Dennis said Wednesday’s population stood at 538 or 84 percent. He said the population averaged 565 or 88 percent in June. He added that five of the six jurisdictions over utilized their bed allocations with the exception of Fulton County which was under.
