Welcome to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio
The mission of the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio is to protect the public, employees and offenders while operating a cost effective detention center for Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Lucas and Williams Counties and the City of Toledo.
The Corrections Commission of Northwest Ohio was formed in 1987 to oversee the construction and operation of the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio. The six member jurisdictions of the Corrections Commission include Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Lucas and Williams Counties and the City of Toledo. The six member jurisdictions each have two representatives (county commissioner/city manager and chief of police/sheriff) that serve on the twelve member Commission. The six member jurisdictions proportionately share in the cost of operating the Corrections Center based upon the number of beds each is allocated. The bed allocation breakout and proportionate cost share is as follows:
|Jurisdiction||Number of Beds||Proportionate Cost Share|
|City of Toledo||240||37.62%|
Each member jurisdiction paid their proportionate share of the capital cost of construction of the facility (approximately $21.3 million). The State of Ohio reimbursed $10.7 million or 50% of the total capital costs as an incentive to build regional jails.
The complete findings of a study conducted by Mark Goldman & Associates, Inc. have been released regarding the feasibility study for the sentenced facility of the proposed Lucas County Corrections Center. To view the feasibility study please click on the link provided.
CCNO is accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA). To retain ACA accreditation, CCNO undergoes an audit on all ACA standards every three years. Yearly reports are also forwarded to the ACA to show continued compliance.
CCNO is certified by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections Bureau of Adult Detention on all State of Ohio Minimum Jail Standards. This inspection period is every five years. The Bureau of Adult Detention audits CCNO every year on a portion of the minimum jail standards to monitor compliance. To view the Ohio Jail Standards please click on the link provided.
