Citizens Advisory Committee

The Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) is comprised of twenty representatives from various segments of the community and acts in an advisory capacity to the Executive Director of the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio (CCNO).

Responsibilities include: 

  1. Providing input on the operations at the CCNO and make recommendations for possible improvements. 
  1. Conduct an annual inspection of the CCNO facility and submit a written report to the Corrections Commission of Northwest Ohio. 
  1. Make recommendations to local Community Corrections Planning Boards and County Commissioners on effective jail population management through the use of alternatives to incarceration programs.

The CAC meets on the first Thursday of March, May, September and November at 7 p.m. in the administration conference room at the CCNO.  All meetings are open to the public.

Membership is comprised of three members each from Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Lucas, and Williams Counties and the City of Toledo and two members from Springfield Township in Williams County.

Members are appointed by the appropriate authority (County Commissioners, Mayor’s Office or Township Trustees) to serve three-year rotating terms.  Elected officials may not serve as committee members.
