Welcome to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio
The mission of the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio is to protect the public, employees and offenders while operating a cost effective detention center for Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Lucas and Williams Counties and the City of Toledo.
The Corrections Commission of Northwest Ohio was formed in 1987 to oversee the construction and operation of the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio. The six member jurisdictions of the Corrections Commission include Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Lucas and Williams Counties and the City of Toledo. The six member jurisdictions each have three representatives (county commissioner/city manager, chief of police/sheriff, and a judge) that serve on the eighteen member Commission. The six member jurisdictions proportionately share in the cost of operating the Corrections Center based upon the number of beds each is allocated. The bed allocation breakout and proportionate cost share is as follows:
| Jurisdiction | Number of Beds | Proportionate Cost Share |
| Defiance County | 62 | 9.66% |
| Fulton County | 50 | 7.79% |
| Henry County | 38 | 5.92% |
| Lucas County | 198 | 30.84% |
| City of Toledo | 244 | 38.01% |
| Williams County | 50 | 7.79% |
Each member jurisdiction paid their proportionate share of the capital cost of construction of the facility (approximately $21.3 million). The State of Ohio reimbursed $10.7 million or 50% of the total capital costs.
